Were & was – Free exercise 8

For the past tense of the verb TO BE, one uses the forms was & were, such as

  • I was
  • You were
  • He was
  • She was
  • It was
  • We were
  • You were
  • They were

They  all surprised to see me there
She  eating all he cooked
What  you doing down there?
Why  you late this morning?
It  just a nightmare
He  busy all day yesterday
I wouldn’t do that if I  you
She  asleep when he rang
It  10 o’clock when she called me
He speaks as if he  an expert
